About Soundiagnosis

We are a Mobile team of Veterinarians Experienced in Diagnostic Ultrasound who travel to veterinary clinics around Melbourne, Victoria and surrounding areas to perform full abdominal ultrasounds, echocardiography, thoracic, musculoskeletal, eye and neck ultrasounds in Small Animals and some exotics, to support Clinicians in an accurate diagnosis.

We are passionate about Ultrasound in all its applications!

Our Story

Founded in 2009 by Dr. Veronica Damian

She studied a Master Degree in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Melbourne in 2003. Since then she has performed diagnostic ultrasound in Mexico and later in Australia where she founded Soundiagnosis. More than 16 years experience and more than 10 years providing a thorough and professional service to all the Vet Clinics in Melbourne, Victoria.

Education: Bachelor in Veterinary Science at UNAM Mexico. (Honours and University Medal) Master in Veterinary Studies (Radiology) at The University of Melbourne  ​ Veronica is Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVSc) 2009;  Australasian Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging since 2003. ​ Practice Experience: Mobile ultrasound service to small animal practices since 2004, operating first in Mexico City, and in Melbourne, Australia since 2009, Currently providing the service to many Veterinary practices in Melbourne, including Specialist referral centres. She also is an Instructor and co-founder of Soundiagnosis Academy. ​ Personal interests: Spending time with her two kids and husband, loves painting.  She has a lovely sheepadoodle “Frida”

Veterinarian, Surgeon and Clinical Sonographer

Education: Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, University of Melbourne (2012, 2015) Practice Experience: Sylvana has worked in a busy small animal general practice and emergency centre in Melbourne since 2016. She commenced training with Soundiagnosis in 2021. Her special interests are diagnostic imaging and small animal internal medicine. Personal interests: Sylvana enjoys reading, bouldering, and travelling.  She loves the visual arts and has a soft spot for sighthounds.

Education: Bachelor in Veterinary Science, University of Melbourne 2013 Ultrasound training with Soundiagnosis 2018. ​ Practice Experience: General Veterinary Practice (medicine and surgery) in Melbourne since 2013. She started training in Diagnostic Ultrasound at Soundiagnosis in 2018. Her interests are Small Animal Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging (Ultrasound)

Veterinarian, Clinical Sonographer (under training)

Education: Bachelor in Veterinary Science, Universidad of Buenos Aires. Currently training in Diagnostic Ultrasound with Soundiagnosis. Practice Experience: She worked in Argentina as a Veterinarian for a small animal practice and in a pharmaceutical laboratory designing products for large animals. She has passed the Australasian Veterinary Examination successfully and is currently doing general practice in a small animal clinic and being trained for ultrasounds with Soundiagnosis. Personal interests: She has 4 adopted pets back home and 2 adopted Greyhounds in Melbourne: Donvi and Dama, who certainly keep her busy. She loves going for a hike with her partner as well as travelling, catching up with friends and family, and going out for dinner (always looking forward to the dessert!).

Education: Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours), University of Queensland 2010. General Practitioner certificate in Cardiology 2024. ​ Practice Experience: Christine has worked in a variety of small animal general practices in Rockhampton, Brisbane and Melbourne since 2011. She commenced training with Soundiagnosis in 2020. Her special interests are diagnostic imaging, small animal internal medicine and feline medicine.  Personal interests: Cooking, reading, tennis and travel. She has a very mischievous tortoiseshell cat called "Chitten".

Veterinarian, Surgeon and Clinical Sonographer

Education: Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) 2012, Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency and Critical Care (Small animals) 2018, Postgraduate certificate in Science and Technology (Massey University) 2024 Practical experience: Tammy graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 and started in general practice for a few years. She then switched to Emergency and Critical care, working in multi-disciplinary specialist hospitals in Brisbane and Melbourne. After moving to Melbourne in 2020 Tammy worked as a clinical tutor with the University of Melbourne. Over the past 10 years, Tammy has increasingly used ultrasound to facilitate bed side examination, diagnostic work up, to track and monitor patients in hospital for a variety of conditions. She participated in weekend workshops on abdominal ultrasound, thoracic ultrasound and echocardiography, and continued training with two veterinary radiologists and was began working as a sonographer in 2022. Personal interests: Tammy likes going to the gym and playing basketball. She also enjoys cooking, wining and dining and trying to learn the violin. She has two kelpies, Theo and Mia that keep her on her toes and remind Tammy of finding joy in the simple things in life.

Education: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing Practice experience: 3 years experience in small animal practice. Isabella loves all aspects of nursing from caring for hospital patients to surgical nursing, this lead to her love of ultrasound! Personal interests: Loves to read and cross-stitch in her spare time. Enjoys being active, playing netball and doing Spartan races. Has 2 cats, Tiddles and Shelly, and 1 dog named Banjo.
